Psychological Marketing Insights

Analyzing the Psychology of Business, Marketing, and Sales ...

Why do I have a brief clip from a movie posted here?

Watch this brief video.  There can be great lessons learned from this.

So why did I show the above video?  Because quite frankly, sometimes we miss the easy way to do things. We are so used to doing “what works” that we miss out on different opportunities, hidden opportunities and better ways to get things done.

My goal is to expose you to a different way of thinking.  To uncover unused assets, resources, and opportunities that you may not be currently seeing.  To help you improve, grow, and engineer break throughs in your business in a dramatic way or fashion. Sometimes it is as easy as above, and sometimes it isn’t.

The #1 Fear (and rightfully so) of people who hire “consultants” is that the consultants won’t understand his or her business.

Consider these “predictions” from experts in their fields…

“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.”

–Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943.

“That virus [HIV] is a pussycat.”
Dr. Peter Duesberg, molecular-biology professor at U.C. Berkeley, 1988,

Drill for oil? You mean drill into the ground to try and find oil?  You’re crazy.”

–Associates of Edwin L. Drake refusing his suggestion to drill for oil in 1859.

A rocket will never be able to leave the Earth’s atmosphere.”

New York Times, 1936.

“Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.”

–Lord Kelvin, 1895.

“There will never be a bigger plane built.”

–A Boing engineer, after the first flight of the 247, a twin engine plan that holds ten people.

“Taking the best left-handed pitcher in baseball and converting him into a right fielder is one of the dumbest things I ever heard.”

– Tris Speaker, baseball hall of famer, talking about Babe Ruth, 1919.

Now why am I putting these predictions above?  It is to illustrate this point.  These ‘predictions’ were not necessarily dumb predictions. The people who were saying them were pretty smart.  But they were basing these predictions off of their limited experience and their own map of the world.

Which should bring you to this conclusion.

Even the “smartest” person can’t know everything, and has a limited perspective.  It is physically impossible to see everything there is to see, to see every viewpoint, to walk in everyone else’s shoes.

So the question you must ask yourself is this:  Are you willing to admit your ignorance, at least to some degree, on various things?  Because understand this, it is certainly okay (and a wise thing) to admit this.

We hope to give you insight into the type of consulting services we offer, but please understand that consulting services are only available to specific clients who are approved.

Why?

Because we want to first make sure we are “right” for each other.

We want to make sure that you understand what you are hiring us for, and what the expectations are.

Does this make sense?

So, if you do decide to hire us what do you get?

The answer:  It depends.

What we can do is the following:

  • Give you a different perspective on your business or businesses.
  • Analyze your current marketing and lead generation systems (or lack thereof)
  • Look at any referral generation strategies or campaigns you are (or are not) doing
  • Look at your sales processes and conversion strategies
  • Look at your literature and critique it
  • Analyze your website
  • And more…

We have every possible answer to every questions you could ever have.

Generally we have a pretty good idea of what you need to do to grow your business, but to be upfront, we can’t possibly know everything–at least right away…and anybody who claims they have all the answers is either lying or wrong.

So why should you considering applying to work with us?  Because in every situation things can generally be improved.  Every situation is unique, but often times there are concepts that work from one area to another area.

And many times you need a different perspective because you are running the business on a daily basis.  You are wrapped up in what you have to do, and need to look at things from a different angle.

But the main thing we need to discuss is….

S-T-R-A-T-E-G-Y

We need to ask what is the goal, the purpose, the method, the process at all times in a business.   Why?  Because many times we aren’t clear enough on our exact purpose.  We need to break it down to tiny little steps so that you can move from one level to another.

Most “consultants” can easily pick and poke and tell you what is wrong with a business, but the question becomes how do you fix it?  And then how do you implement those “fixes” or changes?

We don’t look at ourselves as “consultants”  (and neither will you) but we look at ourselves as scientists.  Examining every little function that is worth looking at.  Asking questions one little bit at a time, and then refining them little by little, inch by inch.

After all, what is possible and what isn’t possible is determined by little things, many times.

So, if you’re interested in taking another step please click here and send us a message. We’d love to hear what your ideas are, and get any feedback you have.
