Bad language, one of the worst habits one can have. No, not as in bad grammar, or as in cussing. What I mean is words that shape our reality and limit our potential.
Example: ”I am a failure” This word right here is what people in NLP or Neuro-semantics call a “nominalization”
What is a nominalization? It is when you take a process and freeze it into one single word. So, it should be “I am failing at something…” not, “I am a failure” Failure labels yourself and takes the process of whatever you are doing and boils it down into an all-or-nothing situation, labels yourself, and does other negative things to your brain.
Next time you are frustrated or upset at yourself, take a few moments and check your language. You’ll be surprised at how much you are hurting yourself.
